I bought this doll for my 2 1/2 year-old, great-granddaughter. Her mom is expecting another baby in January, and we wanted her to get experience with a newborn, such as a baby crying, needing a diaper change, and helping with the newborn when he/she gets here.
She loves this doll, and so do we. I was surprised at how much Baby Alive does, compared to the one I had bought for my granddaughter (my great-granddauaghter’s mom). She says quite a few phrases, and my great-granddaughter loves that. She enjoys feeding her and changing her. It is such a joy to watch her with Baby Alive, as she feeds, changes, kisses, and hugs her. She takes her everywhere she goes.
My great-granddaughter has plenty of other dolls, but this one is her favorite by far.

This was purchased for my niece birthday. FABULOUS price. Less than HALF of Wal-Mart or any local store. PLUS, NO LOCAL store had an African American version in stock for months around here.

Wow, my 6-year old niece was so excitied to receive an African American Baby Alive. The doll is great and allows young black children to practice motherhood through a doll designed for them. I only paid around $40 for the doll in October. I was amazed to find the exact doll is currently being sold for $168.99. The Hispanic doll is also overpriced at $88.88 where as Caucasian doll sells for $31.98. I don’t understand why there is such a great difference with the ethnic dolls.

This is indeed DISGUSTING!!! I bought 4 of these dolls (3 African American and 1 Hispanic) from kohls.com for my daughter and nieces for $[...] after coupons. Now I feel guilty for buying so many! If I had known that there was a shortage I would’ve never bought so many.
People of Color are now the MAJORITY too bad the retailers refuse to believe it and make their inventory reflect this FACT!!
